Getting involved at Belfast 89FM

Belfast 89FM reflects local activities and issues, with a mix of live guests in the studio or on the telephone, and regular contributors.

There are a number of on-air and off-air roles available and full training will be provided. If you’d like to become involved, please contact us at mail@belfast89.com

Volunteer roles available

Presenters

Presenters and co-presenters should be engaging and positive people with a good sense of humour, knowledge of the Greater Belfast area and its people, and an ability to relate to an older listening audience.

A clear speaking voice, good time management, research skills and an interest in and understanding of 60s and 70s music.

Producers and
Co-Producers

Producers should have the time to commit to developing the show, researching local events and activities and to organise and prepare interviews.Some experience of producing a radio show would also be useful.

Producers should be well organised, have good research skills and have good communication skills.

Contributors

Do you have a particular passion or hobby which you’d love to share with the listeners of Belfast 89FM? If you have a clear speaking voice and are very knowledgeable about your subject area (anything from sports and antiques to gardening, travel, films and theatre), we’d love to hear from you!

Technical operators/I.T. Experts

There are also occasional requirements for Technical operators and I.T Experts.

Promotional representatives

We need people to help us with outside promotion of the station.

If you love what we do and like interacting with people why not join us on our Road Shows and on our ‘Hippy’ days out.

Programme Assistants

We need people to answer phones and deal with social media during busy programmes.
